SIM has been in Ethiopia for decades. For over one week our Team worked in an SIM soccer camp in the southern tribal region, of Ethiopia, in a beautiful setting called Camp Langano. The Camp Langano area has around 6000 residents, there is one medical clinic, which is run by SIM.
A special newly established orphanage, by SIM, is called the “House of Hope. It is specifically for orphans whose mother died in childbirth. It is standard practice in Ethiopia if the mother dies to allow the newborn to die also and then bury the two together, since the father has no way to care for the infant. The “House of Hope”, fulfills a desperate need, is currently full.
The house of hope, currently has no water filter to filter impuritites from a well, and all water ishas to be boiled before used. For around $500 we can supply them with a new filtering system. If you would like to help us with this little project please let me know. my email is
